My Body is Hurting

My Body is Hurting

I got a call yesterday as soon as Jeff got in from Japan that he wanted to roll later on that evening. I thought later on was 6 or 7, but he said 7:30. Knowing Jeff, I figured we'd start at 8. But nope, Jeff double-booked his photo shoot during our training time and we didn't start until 9m and didn't finish until 11pm.

I was so late that I asked my wife to come by the gym so I could at least see her and my son. So after training Jeff and I were talking and laughing and then I say, "Man I got something funny to tell you." And he replies, "Not as funny as what I have to tell you."

And I love surprises to I tell my story first in hopes that his is TRULY better than mine. What he tell sme is that he doesn't have a ride and I have to take him home. I looked out in the parking lot because I thought he was kidding. He bursts out in laughter, but I was tired and pissed, but what could I do - It's Jeff, you gotta love the guy. At any rate, he bought me dinner a Pollo Tropical so I guess we're even :-/

Jeff hung out with my son Rufus last night because he hadn't seen him in a couple of months. He commented on how big he's gotten and asked me how old he is and I told him that he'll be 1 in a couple of days. Jeff said he wanted to come to the party.

So I hope he'll be able to make it.

It's party time!

Birthday party invitations have gone out and I'm in the beginning stages of planning the big birthday bash at the Ferguson household. Rufus' party is going to be the first time that many of our family members have been to our home so that means it's time for some spring cleaning!!!!

But before I begin the spring cleaning I've got to get a handle on the tornado that tears through our home on a daily basis. Rufus is just starting to take a few steps on his own but he's managed to take over our living room and create his own little play pen with our DVDs, videotapes and magazines thrown anywhere and everywhere. I've learned to accept some degree of chaos in my life and actually enjoy picking up the toys, tapes and magazines before going to bed.....it's my chance to see what Rufus has gotten into that day.

Today I actually got off work early and was able to meet Rhadi and Rufus at the park. Rufus and I took our first ride on the carousel together!! It was a beautiful day here in South Florida and I was so thankful to be able to spend it with my family at the park.

So now I'm off to make my shopping list and can't wait to keep you posted as the big day approaches.

Rufus' Mom,

Traci

P.S. I'm posting late because I just got back from watching Rhadi and Jeff Monson work out at the gym. They had a late training session and Rhadi wanted to get in a few rounds with Jeff before he leaves for Japan. Rhadi will be talking about his training session with Jeff on his blog www.thejudocrusader.com So check it out. And make sure to visit my blog "The Health and Wellness Queen" for the latest information and advice about healthy living. So take care.

Where did Rufus's Name Come From?

Here's something that you probably didn't know about my son Rufus Alexander Ferguson.
He is named after my father - Rufus Alexander Ferguson. So he and his granddaddy have the same name.

When I told my pop that I name my son after him while I was in the delivery room, Man, he was stoked!!
I think the dude has been on a high ever since and hasn't come down. I can understand that. My son give me the same feeling.
I told you earlier that my son's birthday is on the 5th of April, mine is on the 3rd and my wife's is on the 8th, well, my dad's is on the 28th of April. I know it's wild, but that's how it is. And my son's Godmother's birthday is on the same day as my wife's birthday.
Oh, if you want to know where my son's name (well I guess my father's name) comes from it comes from the Bible.
In the book of Mark, chapter 15 and verse 21 it reads: "A certain man from Cyrene, Simon, the father of Alexander and Rufus, was passing by on his way in from the country, and they forced him to carry the cross."
So now you know.
My main man's birthday is on the 5th of April and it gonna be suuuuuhhhhweeeett!!!

My main man, Rufus......

I'm not really sure why kids put EVERYthing in their mouths. Well, I do know the educational psychology reason but that's only someone's interpretation of why kids do it, we really don't know why it is that they really do it. But there's seems to be a link between that and the endless eating that they do! :-)

I think my son eats as much as I do now.

All that being said, you can see that he's quite the handsome fellow (taking after his good ole pop) :-) and he's VERY energetic. He seems to be at his peak right when I'm super tired.

At any rate, his birthday is coming up in the next couple of days and I'm stoked. He's going to be 1 year old. That means he'll be talking back and telling me how dumb I am in no time at all :-)

We just mailed out the invitations to his birthday party this past weekend and we're going to have a humongous party.

I'll tell you all about it when it goes down, believe me.

We'll that's it for today, I just got back from Yanik Silver's Internet Marketing Seminar, it was great. I learned a couple of new things to add to my pocket full of tricks.

Take care,

Rhadi Ferguson

One of the best days of my life......

THE FERGUSON .358

On the 5th of April on 2006 I really understood what it really meant to be in love. The depth of my love and respect for my wife broadened to a level that I never knew possible and my heart widened to a capacity that I never thought imaginable as I watched my wife deliver my son under the direction and watchful care of our physician and by the guiding and comforting hand of God.

The most beautiful thing about this day was that it was the day that the Ferguson .358 was constructed.

Many of you are familar with the .358 magnum. It's a gun that was invented in 1959. But the Ferguson .358 is us. It is our family and the reason why it is called Ferguson .358 is because I was born on the 3rd of April, our son Rufus was born on the 5th of April and my wife Traci was born on the 8th of April. Thus - Ferguson .358 :-)

Well as the 5th of April nears I'm getting excited. I'm going to do something super exciting in my businesses to celebrate my son's birthday and we are going to celebrate his birthday with a birthday party. It's going to be a great time. I'm super excited.

Right now, I'm out of town in Washington, DC on business and I really want to get back home to see my wife and son. It's really miserable when I'm away from them, but my business requires that I travel some, albeit not as much as I did when I was training for the Olympics in 2004.

But, what are you gonna do? I gotta pay the bills :-)

The past year with my son has been a ball. Reading to him, playing with him, wrestling on the floor and evening cleaning up his piss and poop has been an absolute joy. Even now as he's turning out living room into a disaster sight, he's still an absolute joy to have around. I really can't wait to get back home so I can hug and kiss my wife and my son and roll around on the floor with my son and wrestle with him.

Here's Rufus when he was helping with my Comprehensive Exam back in April/May of 2005

Here's a pic of Traci and I with Rufus at my Brazilian Jiujitsu Black Belt Promotion Ceremony last year. (Rufus didn't want to be still for the picture).

Well, Traci and I will keep you posted on the birthday plans for Rufus.

With Love,

The Fergusons
