Today brings a new set of challenges

I love spending time with my wife and my son. And I really enjoy spending time with my family. During Rufus' brithday party, we had house full (and them some) of guests.

It was bananas!! Rufus had the best time in the world and we fed the WORLD!! We had Subway party subs, 20 slabs of Ribs, 10 Whole Chickens, Turkey Wings, Beans, Peas and Rice, Pasta Salad, Regular Salad and of course....... Ice Cream and Cake.

Yesterday and today are the toughtest parts of the party ...... The Aftermath!

Now we are cleaning up. We have to call a professional carpet cleaner, we had some body fix the tiles in the floor and new someone has to come back and clean the tile and grout. Also we had to clean up the backyard, take down the decoration and fix the handle that I broke on the sliding glass doors as I was trying to put the door back on track :-/

What a job!!

I never thought that a party for a 1 year old would be soooooooooo HUGZE and so much work. But it was.

My WIFE did a wonderful job. She was planning her butt off. As you all know I was out of town in Japan with Jeff Monson getting him ready for his fight so Traci did most of the planning and I did some running around when I got back in town.

Well, my parents just left today and today my other client Taraje Williams-Murray comes in town today and this week are the National Judo Championships.

It's something - I tell ya!!

It's a constant whirlwind over here. And I just found out that I have some more stuff that I have to submit in order to get my research for my Ph. D. approved (great fun!!) :-/

I've been in school so long - it feels like my ears are dripping with nonsensical facts, figures and graphs.

That's all for now.

Thanks for hanging in there and checkin' in on the Ferugsons

Take care!!!

Celebrating Rufus' First Birthday---The Big Party!

Yesterday was Party Day and oh, what a wonderful time we had!

Family from Miami, West Palm Beach and even Maryland, were in attendance to celebrate Little Rufus' and Big Rufus' birthdays. Little Rufus was born on April 5, 2006 and Big Rufus will celebrate his 56th Birthday on April 28th...so in celebration I ordered a special cake with a beautiful picture of the two of them..

...together last Sunday on the way to Easter Sunday service. But that picture would be the last picture of Rufus with his full head of hair because we surprised everyone at the party with little Rufus sporting his new hair cut from his cousin Greg--

Here's Rufus with his Grandparents on his very special day! Doesn't he look like such a big boy with his new haircut?

We had more than 50 people singing "Happy Birthday" to the Birthday Boy as he got ready to dig right into his very own little birthday cake.

He didn't quite know what to do with icing on his hands...so we got him cleaned up and ready for round number 2 after the singing had ended.

The party started at 3pm yesterday and is still going on right now! I'm tucked away in the office writing this post while my in-laws entertain those who stayed over last night and those who stopped by today to wish Little Rufus a happy birthday. There's plenty of food along with ice cream left over but I'm afraid all the birthday cake is GONE!

We're all still trying to recover from the busy day with both Rufus and Rhadi down for the count...taking naps...getting ready for their next wind.

So you see, Rhadi and I had the most wonderful time with our family and friends yesterday as we spent with day and evening with the most precious gift of all....our son!

Thanks for sharing in our special day!

From Traci---better known as Rufus' mom!
